David Goershel Joins Kleinfelder as Executive Vice President and South Division Director
SAN DIEGO, California (January 23, 2023) – The Kleinfelder Group, Inc. (Kleinfelder), a leading engineering, design, construction management, construction materials inspection and testing, and environmental professional services firm, announced today that David Goershel, PG, PMP, has joined the firm as Executive Vice President and South Division Director. Goershel, who will be based in Kleinfelder’s Atlanta, Georgia office, will oversee operations throughout Kleinfelder’s newly created South Division, providing leadership to drive profitable growth and expansion.

With over 30 years of industry experience, Goershel is a strong leader who focuses on creating value in large organizations, operational leadership, and talent engagement. Goershel has successfully led business operations and strategic direction across several executive leadership positions. Additionally, Goershel’s leadership approach incorporates team building and communication, continuous improvement, operational accountability, and an entrepreneurial mindset to create a culture of success.

Before joining Kleinfelder, Goershel most recently served as President – East US Operations for Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions (Wood) where he led the $450M environment and infrastructure business consisting of over 1,800 personnel. Prior to this position, Goershel served as Wood’s President – Strategy and Development where he developed and implemented the 2019-2021 global strategic plan in collaboration with the leadership team to establish and achieve long-term business objectives.
Goershel holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological Oceanography from the Florida Institute of Technology. Goershel also retains certifications as a Professional Geologist (Georgia) and Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute.
