“Values don’t change. Priorities do. At Kleinfelder, our core value of Health and Safety leads to setting the right priorities, which shape behaviors of all employees, every day. Setting clear expectations for safe behavior leads to safety performance excellence; simply put, no one gets hurt.” —Matt Pickard, Vice President, Director of Health and Safety
In the field or in the office, safe behavior is critical to the overall well-being of Kleinfelder’s employees, partners, clients, and the community at large. It is also key to the success of our projects, our client relationships, and the health of our company. Our employees benefit from Kleinfelder’s safety culture because it promotes a high quality of life, both at work and at home.
As part of Kleinfelder’s health and safety culture, we integrate a safety approach, based on the Loss Prevention System TM (LPS), that helps our people recognize, evaluate and reduce risk even before projects begin. We hold managers accountable for setting and communicating safety expectations, and we recognize and reward demonstrated commitment of employees to the core value of safety. This ongoing stewardship and attention makes each of us accountable to each other. Kleinfelder employees take care of one another every day, on every project, allowing all of us to end our work day in the same condition we started it. Our safety culture is what enables us to complete our clients’ projects efficiently, confidently, and safely.
Kleinfelder is a member of the National Safety Council (NSC), a nonprofit safety advocate organization that focuses on eliminating the leading causes of preventable injuries and deaths. As a member firm, all of Kleinfelder’s employees have access to NSC resources, including opportunities to participate in educational webinars and platforms, network with others in the industry, and engage with NSC’s mission and offerings.
