City of San Diego Selects Kleinfelder for $20M Water/Wastewater Contract

SAN DIEGO, California (November 15, 2023) – The City of San Diego Public Utilities Department (PUD) has selected Kleinfelder for a 5-year, $20 million Water/Wastewater Contract, marking the fourth consecutive selection of the firm for this contract.  This ongoing partnership underscores the consistent quality of Kleinfelder’s services. The contract encompasses a wide range of Kleinfelder’s areas of expertise, including water, wastewater, reservoirs, reclaimed water, pure water, groundwater, stormwater studies, condition assessments, strategic planning, and design solutions for treatment processes and hydraulics.

Over the past decade, Kleinfelder has successfully supported over 62 task orders involving design of dam spillway repairs, sediment basin concrete rehabilitation, major water pump stations, stormwater diversion, sulfuric acid addition for pure water processes, and implementation of solar systems for electricity generation. Currently, Kleinfelder is actively engaged in multiple task orders involving lead service pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, trunk sewers, water treatment plants, onsite chlorine generation, dam drawdowns, and outlet towers.
