Kleinfelder to Expand Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Services to Clients Nationwide

SAN DIEGO, California—Kleinfelder has been growing UAS service offerings for our clients over the last year. Our services have included Digital Terrain Mapping (DTM) and Digital Surface Mapping (DSM) in the sub centimeter range of accuracy using photogrammetry and LiDAR as well as infrastructure inspection services. Kleinfelder is pleased to announce that we have partnered with PrecisionHawk to greatly expand our remote sensing capabilities.

PrecisionHawk is a global leader in UAS-based data acquisition and analysis. In addition, the company has been at the forefront of providing safe, Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) capabilities to the commercial market. PrecisionHawk received the first blanket BVLOS waiver from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) after demonstrating the technological and operational safety case for this type of advanced operation. The array of sensors and airframes PrecisionHawk can access, as well as their data processing capabilities, are among the top in the nation.

Kleinfelder is excited to grow with PrecisionHawk and to be able to deliver new services, sensors and deploy UAS in new ways. Kleinfelder is further adding to its remote sensing capabilities by enabling Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities to review, compile and analyze the terabytes of data that UAS generate.

Louis Armstrong, Kleinfelder Western Division Director stated, “We are excited to add the broad range of services and unique capabilities of PrecisionHawk to our service offerings. Their capability to fly beyond visual line-of-sight and their collaborative relationship with FAA will help us deliver highly accurate data and analyses to our clients.  In particular, our clients with linear infrastructure such as rail, power transmission, and roadways will greatly benefit from our relationship with PrecisionHawk.”

“We are excited to work with businesses, like Kleinfelder, who are embracing innovation and quickly taking advantage of commercial drone solutions to improve safety and overall operational efficiency,” said Patrick Lohman, Vice President of Energy Services at PrecisionHawk. “With their existing breadth of services and industry expertise, Kleinfelder is well-positioned to integrate and leverage drone technology to better serve their customers.”
