Brian Burkhart Returns to Kleinfelder as Senior Civil/Water Resources Engineer

Raleigh, North Carolina – Kleinfelder is excited to announce that Brian Burkhart, PE has rejoined the firm as a Senior Civil/Water Resources Engineer in North Carolina.

Brian will focus on delivering innovative and sustainable water resources solutions to clients in the surface mining industry, oil and gas sector, state and local government, and industrial/commercial market in the Carolinas and throughout the southeast US. “With a strong backlog of work with excellent clients, interesting projects, and a diverse and talented team in North Carolina, Kleinfelder offers the opportunity to apply my specialized knowledge and experience in planning, design and operation of water resource systems on current and future projects that play an important role in the social and economic development of the region,” said Brian when explaining why he chose to return to Kleinfelder.

Brian brings over 20 years of experience in civil engineering, particularly water resources, to Kleinfelder. He specializes in stormwater and Stormwater Control Measure design and inspection, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, water and sewer system design, stream restoration and wetland mitigation plans, erosion and sediment control planning and design, floodplain analysis, and watershed studies. He has worked with both public and private sector clients, including North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ), North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), Mecklenburg County, Town of Cary, Army Corps of Engineers, Piedmont Natural Gas, and Vulcan Materials. Most recently, Brian provided modeling and design services for Lake County Florida to resolve nuisance neighborhood flooding and multiple hydrologic analyses for a large phosphate mine in north Florida.

Brian is a registered professional engineer in North Carolina and holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from North Carolina State University. Brian is based out of Kleinfelder’s Raleigh, NC office.
