Kleinfelder places significant value on helping women thrive in their careers and continues to make progress every day in supporting the advancement of women in our firm.  Important to this progress is recognizing and celebrating the achievements of those women who have contributed to Kleinfelder’s success over the years. Virginia Moore, of a newly formed Kleinfelder Texas field office, has been recognized for boldly pushing her efforts to new levels in support of achieving company-wide goals, while building her career and gaining a competitive edge along the way.

Virginia’s tenure at Kleinfelder began 16 years ago in Southern California where she started out doing field work on our environmental portfolio.  As she gained experience, she quickly progressed into a project manager role and then a program manager role within our oil and gas program. Since 2008, Virginia has managed oil and gas programs for major global clients in Massachusetts, Australia, and Canada, moving numerous times in support of the Company and the successful delivery of our client’s projects.  Most recently, in support of a recent contract win, Virginia agreed to relocate to Texas where she is currently managing Kleinfelder’s work at a large refinery.

Virginia’s willingness to continually move where Kleinfelder and our clients need her most, exemplifies her dedication to the firm and her willingness to go above-and-beyond for our clients.  However, Virginia’s accomplishments go far beyond her willingness to relocate.  With each move, Virginia has been presented with new challenges and responsibilities that she boldly accepts accountability for, resulting in the growth and advancement of her career. As Virginia moved from management of single projects to programmatic management, she gained the trust of her clients to manage their portfolio of projects with quality and consistency, as well as became a trusted and respected leader among the Kleinfelder staff that she managed.

Responsible for running Kleinfelder’s environmental services in Canada, Virginia successfully filled the role of group/operations manager, gaining significant experience in staff mentoring and relationships, day-to-day HR responsibilities, client management, and operational management.  Not only does Virginia know how to run our oil and gas programs, she knows how to run an operation, and has done it in three different countries. She has successfully operated within different cultures and monetary systems, dealt with foreign exchange and how it impacts the business, and adapted to specific regulatory and foreign policy.  Her skillset is truly unique and highly valued by Kleinfelder, as evidenced by her elevation to a Principal in the firm three years ago.

Reflecting on her journey at Kleinfelder, Virginia credits her career growth to support from great managers and teammates.  “I wouldn’t be where I am today in my career without people who believed in me,” commented Virginia. “I had managers and colleagues who provided me with opportunities and challenges. The opportunities and challenges were mine to either succeed or fail, but I knew I had people that would mentor me along my journey. I consider myself lucky to have had great managers and great teams to work with.”

As Virginia settles into her new role as the project manager at the Texas refinery, we’re excited to see her continued career growth as well as witness and support the many advancements and improvements she’ll implement at the refinery in partnership with Kleinfelder’s client and our team in Texas.
