SEATTLE, Washington—Kleinfelder is pleased to announce the addition of Caroline Brabrook to the West Division as the Seattle Area Manager. Caroline has 21 years of diversified experience in transportation design, construction, management, and business development.

With a strong background in transportation engineering, Caroline has extensive experience leading multidisciplinary design projects including completing contract documents on design-bid-build projects in excess of $20M.  Caroline’s design-build experience includes managing the construction of over $300M in third party work on a 65-mile section of the California High Speed Rail program.  The third party work included coordinating multi-disciplinary teams in the design and construction of facilities for Union Pacific, BNSF, irrigation districts, power and gas companies, and state and local agencies. In addition, she has supported large design-build projects for WSDOT, including the I-405 HOT Lanes, Bellevue to Lynnwood project.  Through this experience, Caroline has reported to a diverse set of stakeholders including elected officials, public agencies, boards, permitting agencies, community groups, business groups, and media on high profile and controversial transportation projects.  She has demonstrated her ability to work collaboratively with owner, contractor, and design teams to meet design criteria, contract requirements, schedule, and budget, as well as successfully manage dynamic public engagement processes.

In addition to her project experience, Caroline has comprehensive experience and training related to management and leadership.  She has served in positions where she was responsible for managing and mentoring staff, having guided 50+ engineers in career development planning and leading recruiting efforts. She has completed advanced training in project management, risk management, conflict resolution, team building, contract management, and QA/QC implementation. Furthermore, as the owner of her own consulting firm for nearly four years, Caroline has a deep understanding of all aspects related to managing, operating, and marketing a consulting business.

Caroline is a registered professional engineer in Washington, holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Waterloo, has completed Masters Coursework in transportation, and is pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Contract Management from the University of California Irvine.
