Charles M. Brown Jr. Named Charlotte Operations Manager at Kleinfelder
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – Charles M. Brown Jr., P.E., has been named Operations Manager for the Charlotte, North Carolina office of Kleinfelder, a global engineering, architecture and science consulting firm.
In his new position, Brown is responsible for growing and managing Kleinfelder’s presence in North Carolina, leading client relations activities, mentoring and developing staff and executing the company’s long-term plan. He brings more than 24-years of experience in geotechnical and civil engineering, construction materials testing, and special inspections to the role.
“Charles’s engineering, land development, and construction management experience builds on the company’s existing capabilities in the southeast,” says Colin Davis, Kleinfelder’s North Carolina regional manager. “As the economy continues to improve, Kleinfelder has an opportunity to address the increasing demand from the energy, transportation, local government, and education markets. Prior to joining Kleinfelder, Brown was the president and owner of Capstone Civil Group (CAPSTONE), a multi-discipline engineering and construction management firm operating throughout North Carolina. Other industry experience includes time with Charlotte Mecklenburg Utilities, where he gained extensive knowledge and expertise in government engineering and construction standard practices and procedures.
Brown is a registered engineer (P.E.) in North Carolina, and is a LEED Accredited Professional for Building Design and Construction. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master of Science in Construction Management from East Carolina University.
