Kleinfelder Hosts SBEs and LA Metro at Meet & Greet

November 6, 2024

Kleinfelder recently hosted a Meet & Greet event with Los Angeles Metro (Metro) and a roster of Metro-certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE) environmental services subconsultants.

The event took place at the conference center of Kleinfelder’s soon-to-be Downtown Los Angeles high-rise office location and was attended by 25 SBE subconsultants, 15 staff from Metro’s Environmental Services Division (ESD), and 11 Kleinfelder staff.

Kleinfelder currently holds two environmental services contracts with Metro — Environmental Engineering and Consulting Services and the bench contract for Environmental Capital Construction Support — and we partner with Metro under these contracts to provide broad environmental consulting support for their operations and maintenance facilities, as well as a variety of transit and rail construction projects across Los Angeles County. This support requires a robust team of subconsultants.

The objective of the Meet & Greet was multi-pronged: small-business subconsultants were provided an opportunity to learn about Metro’s environmental service needs directly from Metro and gain insight to potential services or certifications in which they could expand their capabilities. Subconsultants firms were also able to educate Metro and Kleinfelder about their qualifications, experience, and interest in teaming.

Tom Kefalas, Executive Officer of the ESD spoke to the group of the importance of working as a team to address and solve environmental challenges. Kleinfelder received words of appreciation from multiple subconsultants for hosting such an event.

Kleinfelder is committed to championing local small businesses and identifying contract avenues for their involvement in furthering Metro’s environmental objectives, and we look forward to hosting more of these kinds of events in the future!
