Acquired: April 2025
Veenstra & Kimm is a multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consulting firm headquartered in Iowa with more than 60 years of experience. The company serves transportation, water resources, municipal, and land/site development markets throughout the Midwest.
The transaction established Kleinfelder’s first significant footprint in the Midwest and created a new Midwest Division. V&K’s strong regional relationships and complementary services support continued geographic expansion and increased client reach.

Doucet & Associates
Acquired: June 2023
Doucet was an Austin-based civil engineering firm serving public and private-sector clients throughout Texas. Its expertise included civil engineering, surveying, environmental permitting, and construction management.
The acquisition deepened Kleinfelder’s presence in the fast-growing Texas market and created strong revenue synergy opportunities. It also broadened the company’s client base and strengthened service offerings across land development, transportation, water, and municipal markets.

The acquisition substantially strengthened Kleinfelder’s Mid-Atlantic footprint and expanded its infrastructure service portfolio. Century’s established client relationships and technical capabilities complemented Kleinfelder’s strategic growth objectives across multiple markets.

The acquisition strengthened Kleinfelder’s position in the power and utilities sector while adding specialized pipeline experience. Shared client relationships and complementary services created significant opportunities for growth and cross-selling.

Advantage Engineers
Acquired: December 2019
Kleinfelder acquired the geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, and construction observation/materials testing (CoMET) division of Advantage Engineers. The acquired business had a strong presence in the Mid-Atlantic region and served industrial distribution, logistics, and commercial development markets.
The acquisition expanded Kleinfelder’s Mid-Atlantic capabilities and established a stronger CoMET practice integrated with existing geotechnical and environmental services. It also opened new regional markets and enhanced Kleinfelder’s ability to serve clients with national footprints.
