When the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) sought to extend its trolley service fourteen miles—from Santa Fe Depot in Downtown San Diego to the University City community—it sought a range of geotechnical solutions to ensure a well-managed design for this $900-million-plus, high-caliber transportation project occurring in a high-risk geographical area.

Kleinfelder provided geotechnical recommendations, fault study investigation, seismic design, and hazmat environmental services for the Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project (MCCTP). To improve project performance, Kleinfelder’s project controls teams provided an earned value analysis for more than 75 tasks, broken down by six different project curves; a scope tracking log to monitor key project changes; financial tracking tools that monitored details at a glance, constant project communication; and in-depth involvement during invoice and accounts receivable processing.
