Bryan Haynie Named President of Maryland Society of Surveyors

BALTIMORE, Maryland (October 21, 2024) – Kleinfelder is pleased to announce that Bryan Haynie, PLS, Senior Principal Professional, has been named President of the Maryland Society of Surveyors (MSS). Haynie was sworn in at the 57th Annual MSS Fall Conference and Exhibition, taking on a leadership role in one of the state’s most prominent surveying organizations. As President, Haynie will oversee the society’s operations, including its board of directors and various committees, while representing the interests of Maryland surveyors to government agencies, lawmakers, and the public.

Haynie has been an active member of MSS for over 25 years and has held multiple leadership positions within the organization since 2016. These include Chairman of the MSS Baltimore Chapter, Coordinator of the Baltimore Chapter’s Future Surveyors Program, member of the MSS Board of Directors, and Trustee for the MSS Educational Trust. His dedication to the profession was recognized in 2018 when he was named MSS Surveyor of the Year. In addition to his role with MSS, Haynie currently works as the Senior Surveyor in Kleinfelder-Century’s Hunt Valley, Maryland survey department and brings over 36 years of experience to the field.

As President of MSS, Haynie is committed to advancing the profession and providing value to members. He commented, “I am honored to serve as President of the Maryland Society of Surveyors. Haynie’s career has been marked by a diverse range of projects across various market sectors, including transportation infrastructure, military installations, renewable energy, and water management. His expertise spans boundary, topographic, hydrographic, and aerial surveys, as well as subdivision and right-of-way plat preparation and Land Title surveys. In addition, Haynie is proficient in using technologies such as GPS, Laser Scanning, and sUAS for mapping and surveying.

With his extensive experience and commitment to professional excellence, Haynie is well-positioned to lead MSS and continue its mission of advancing the surveying profession in Maryland.
