We are proud to announce that Janna Bonfiglio, San Diego Geotechnical Group Manager at Kleinfelder, was named a finalist for San Diego Business Journal’s (SDBJ) 40 Next Top Business Leaders Under 40. This annual recognition honors young professionals who are making a significant impact in San Diego through their leadership, innovation, and professional contributions.

Janna’s selection as a finalist reflects her leadership in both Kleinfelder and the engineering community. Her geotechnical and seismic expertise has advanced key infrastructure projects, including the San Diego International Airport Terminal 1 Replacement, the Mid-Coast Corridor Trolley extension, and various dam projects. Her contributions have strengthened the region’s infrastructure and enhanced the seismic resiliency of the San Diego region.

Beyond her technical accomplishments, Janna champions community safety and preparedness through her role as Vice President of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute’s San Diego chapter. She played a crucial role in developing the San Diego Earthquake Scenario report which serves as a valuable resource for the city in strengthening its preparedness for seismic events.

Janna’s dedication to nurturing future engineering talent is equally impressive. As the San Diego Geotechnical Group Manager and an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Geo-Institute, she mentors engineers and inspires innovation within the field.

The recognition as a finalist for the 40 Under 40 Business Leaders follows Janna’s recent honor as a 2024 Woman of Influence in Engineering by the San Diego Business Journal.
