Kleinfelder volunteers with Habitat for Humanity of Tuolumne County

Habitat for Humanity Build Day 2024

Kleinfelder’s Northern California regional teams rallied together to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of Tuolumne County, a non-profit organization. Team members from the Concord, Oakland, Sacramento, San Jose, Santa Rosa, and Stockton offices traveled to Sonora, California to contribute to the development and improvement of affordable housing for people in need.

Our team spent the day revitalizing the landscape by laying bark in front yards of the housing complex, staining newly built fencing around backyards, and transforming a natural water spring into a self-sustaining garden. Using our team’s unique skillset, we were able to assess the current state of the water spring, create a design plan that would be appealing for the community and withstand erosion over time, and build a small, naturally recharging brook lined with low-maintenance, water-loving plants. Even in the heat, the energy and teamwork from everyone involved was infectious, and the results speak for themselves!

Jeremy Scott, PE, Client Account Manager, reflected on the event, saying, “We were so excited to partner with Habitat for Humanity. It was a great opportunity to make a positive impact together as a team. I’m particularly proud of our team’s work ethic and dedication, which was even recognized by Habitat for Humanity representatives. They said it’s been two years since a volunteer team has worked as long as our team did!”

Kleinfelder is proud to support and provide assistance to our local communities through volunteer efforts. We thank Habitat for Humanity for hosting the Kleinfelder Build Day 2024!
