Jeff’s visit to Australia underscores Kleinfelder’s leadership in addressing emerging contaminants and fostering international collaboration with leading environmental organizations such as NGWA and ALGA.

Jeff Hale, Kleinfelder Senior Principal Professional, recently traveled to Australia to address global environmental challenges. In his role as Chair of the National Ground Water Association (NGWA) PFAS Task Force, Jeff met with the CEO of the Australasian Land and Groundwater Association (ALGA) to discuss issues such as emerging contaminants, water resources, and energy challenges faced by both the United States and Australia.

The discussions emphasized the importance of international collaboration and knowledge sharing. Both organizations are committed to engaging with each other to tackle PFAS and other global environmental issues related to land and water. This partnership aims to leverage expertise from both nations, fostering innovative solutions and best practices.

During his two-week trip, Jeff also visited Kleinfelder Australia offices in Brisbane, Adelaide, and Melbourne. These meetings with colleagues and clients were crucial for exchanging strategies and sharing best practices for managing contaminated land sites at current and former petroleum facilities.

Reflecting on the visit, Kleinfelder Victoria Area Manager Kristina Braun said, “We were thrilled to introduce Jeff to our Australia team, facilitating a productive knowledge exchange. Looking forward, this collaboration has the potential to expand our contaminated land practice and empower us to provide even better support to clients facing such challenges.”

While in Melbourne, Jeff, along with several Kleinfelder staff, also attended the joint ALGA and Australia Contaminated Lands Consulting Association (ACLCA) ‘EnviroDrinks’ event. The event provided an opportunity to network with other environmental professionals from Melbourne and further discuss collaborative efforts.
