Kleinfelder Crushes the Quarry

On December 2nd, Kleinfelder participated in Vulcan’s annual Quarry Crusher Run held in Concord, NC. With a longstanding commitment to this event since 2019, Kleinfelder actively engages as both a participant and sponsor. The run spans a challenging 5K course, guiding participants down to the bottom of the quarry before ascending back up, all in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas.

This year, the Kleinfelder team included Christine Brenk and spouse Bob Brenk, Meg Ziemba, and Dennis Harkey (Charlotte, NC office); Lindsay Fletcher (Raleigh, NC office); Brett Miller (Atlanta, GA office); and Lisa Daughtery (Mount Dora, FL office).  Meg Schexnayder (Charlotte, NC office) volunteered during the race, while Erik Messina (Charlotte, NC) offered support to the Kleinfelder Team.

Noteworthy achievements marked this year’s run, with Lindsay Fletcher securing the first position in the female 30’s age bracket, while Christine Brenk secured recognition in the overall female masters category.

Although the final fundraising tally for this year is pending, Denise Hallett, VMC’s Community & Government Relations Manager, revealed a pre-race fundraising total of $70,000, surpassing the previous year’s $60,000 mark.

Graham Stallings, Southeast Area Manager, emphasized the significance of the Vulcan Quarry Crusher Run. “This event underscores our support for Vulcan, a longstanding key client in the Southeast. It also provides an excellent opportunity for Kleinfelder staff to bond outside the office while contributing to a charity that positively impacts our community through mentoring relationships for children.”
