Kleinfelder’s Solar Services in the Carolinas Support Sustainable Energy and Provide Staff, like Bryant Patrick, with Opportunities for Career Growth

RALEIGH, North Carolina – Kleinfelder’s North Carolina Team has provided geotechnical, environmental, civil design, and permitting services for over 200 solar projects throughout the Carolinas.  Working with developers, utility providers, municipalities, and EPC clients, Kleinfelder staff in the North Carolina region are afforded the opportunity to support clean and sustainable energy growth as well as broaden their skillsets and advance their careers through project experience beyond their home office.

Bryant Patrick, an engineer in our Raleigh, NC office, supports a large solar developer in Charleston, SC in a semi-seconded position.  With the client’s utility scale development experiencing unprecedented growth, Bryant travels to South Carolina weekly to provide environmental and civil engineering services needed to meet growing development demands. Working closely with the client, Bryant provides support for pre-development erosion control and runoff measures, slope analysis for solar panel racking concerns, survey review, permitting assistance, zoning site plans, and environmental site visits and pre-construction meetings.

In addition to finding the client’s solar program interesting, the work gives Bryant a sense of accomplishment and pride as it contributes to the growth of clean and sustainable energy sources.  “Having a direct hand in making the region ‘greener’ and being able to see and feel the effects of my work firsthand provides a sense of fulfillment,” said Bryant.  Working in South Carolina has also provided Bryant the opportunity to expand his knowledge of the solar industry and build upon his existing skillsets through his interactions with his broadening technical network. “Being able to travel and support various industries, including the solar industry, is important to me,” explained Bryant. “It creates opportunities to learn about the inner-workings of a specific industry, and provides opportunities to get out from behind the desk and branch out, increasing the footprint of my work as well as meeting new people and expanding my network – two important aspects of my career development.”

In addition to supporting our clients with the best and most qualified resources for their programs/projects, Kleinfelder is committed to providing staff with opportunities to pursue work that interests them and contributes to their professional development.  By connecting great people to the best work, Kleinfelder staff are inspired and motivated to provide high quality and innovative solutions for our clients.
