DENVER, Colorado – Kleinfelder is pleased to announce that Kevin Cowan, P.E. has joined the Gas Transmission and Distribution Engineering Services (GT&D) team as Director of Pipeline Integrity and Corrosion Control.

Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Washington State University.

He is a registered Professional Engineer in California and Utah (Mechanical) and a National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) international registered Corrosion Technologist (CP3).

With over 25 years of pipeline engineering, code compliance, corrosion control and pipeline integrity experience, Kevin and brings both Operator and Regulatory experience to the team.

Kevin has participated on Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) and American Gas Association (AGA) teams, in addition to committees including the Transmission Pipe and Corrosion Control committees, Integrity Verification Process, and Mega rule teams. Kevin has also been a board member of the Oregon Notification Center and participated on teams tasked with pipeline integrity improvement, facilities replacement, and strategic planning.

In Kevin’s new leadership role with Kleinfelder, he will lead the multi-discipline project team located in Denver, Colorado and leverage his experience and knowledge in gas transmission code compliance, risk management, pipeline integrity management, and in-line inspection assessment technologies.

He will also work closely with project managers and program managers throughout Kleinfelder’s US regions to develop and implement integrity assessments and retrofit design of pipeline systems.

Kevin will temporarily be located in the Salt Lake City, Utah office and relocate to the Denver, Colorado office in the next few months.
