Program Manager Michael Burns Joins Kleinfelder
RALEIGH, North Carolina – Environmental program manager Michael Burns, PG, RSM, has joined Kleinfelder—a global engineering, science and architecture consulting firm—as a principal professional in the company’s environmental assessment and remediation service lines. He brings more than 20 years of environmental remediation, groundwater, soil and soil vapor sampling, groundwater modeling, and regulatory negotiations to the firm’s Raleigh, North Carolina office.
In his new position, Burns will manage and provide technical oversight of the region’s environmental assessment & remediation team along with the region’s environmental planning & permitting team. He will also work closely with the environmental regulatory compliance team to grow the practice throughout the American Southeast.

Prior to joining Kleinfelder, Burns was a senior program and project manager at regional environmental consultancies including Environmental Services, Inc., and EnviroSouth, Inc. He is a registered professional geologist (PG) in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, and is a North Carolina Inactive Hazardous Site Breach (IHSB) Registered Site Manager. He holds a MBA from Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina and a BS in Geology from North Carolina State, Raleigh.
