Kleinfelder President and CEO to Chair the Design Professionals Coalition

SAN DIEGO, California – Kleinfelder’s President and CEO William C. (Bill) Siegel has been elected Chairman of the Design Professionals Coalition (DPC), effective January 1, 2015.  The DPC, a coalition of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), was established in 1983 to develop and advocate for policies related to the business interests of large architecture and engineering firms and the public good.

As Chairman, Mr. Siegel and the DPC will focus their combined energy to support critical infrastructure funding and public policy recommendations. In the past, the organization – which is comprised of CEOs, presidents and other senior executives of large engineering and architecture firm – has been successful in countering initiatives opposing outsourcing and privatization, and developing alternatives to existing programs to enhance competition and benefit taxpayers and federal clients.

“I believe it is the responsibility of A/E professionals to help our clients and governments rebuild the nation’s critical infrastructure within the boundaries of tight budgets and sustainable policy,” says Mr. Siegel. “With DPC, my goal is to not only support and recommend viable, sound solutions to industry challenges, but also to do my part in ensuring that the engineers, architects and scientists have a voice about policy issues.”

Debra Gordon, DPC’s vice president adds, “We are pleased to have a leader with Bill’s proven track record and management capabilities to chart the path for DPC to make a substantial difference for the architecture and engineering industry. Bill has created significant value for Kleinfelder over the past six years, and we are confident that he will bring the same enthusiasm and leadership to DPC.”

Mr. Siegel has been with Kleinfelder since 1989, delivering significant results for the company in a variety of technical, strategy and operational roles. In 2009, he was named the 54-year old company’s fourth President and CEO. Under Mr. Siegel’s stewardship, Kleinfelder has become one of the most influential and innovative providers of engineering, architecture and science consulting services. In 2014, Engineering News-Record ranked Kleinfelder No.39 on the Top 500 Design Firms list, No. 44 on the Top 200 Environmental Firms list, No. 74 on the Top 100 Green Design Firms List, and No 91 on the Top 150 Global Design Firms list.
