Daniel (Dan) Harpstead
SVP, Director of Risk Mitigation
“The world is a demanding place where logistic, social, and political complexities have daily impacts on its six billion inhabitants. Critical factors are the challenges we face to have the right infrastructure for the future and how we can effectively develop and maintain that infrastructure. At Kleinfelder, we are structured to succeed in solving those critical infrastructure tests by aligning talented people with the complex demands and goals of our clients.”
Dan Harpstead leads our risk mitigation and management efforts globally. The risk mitigation role is applied externally based on client needs and expectations, and internally to assist project teams in delivering effective and efficient projects. He applies his more than 40 years of successful project delivery experience to work with project teams to identify and define project risks; develop risk mitigation approaches for both the broader project risks and the risks that Kleinfelder is specifically, technically engaged with; and monitor the effectiveness of the risk mitigation strategies.
Dan brings his extensive experience as a consultant, particularly on project design, solution development, professional talent leadership, and leading innovation and change to this risk mitigation role.
Dan has a B.S. in civil engineering and an M.S. specializing in geotechnical engineering. He is a registered engineer in 10 states in the United States.
