Data acquisition company DEWESoft sought to expand its North American headquarters office space in Whitehouse, Ohio, to accommodate future growth. Kleinfelder was selected as the prime design consultant and provided services throughout the project, including master planning, architectural and engineering design services, and assistance with selection of the construction manager at risk.
Beginning in August 2021, Kleinfelder was retained to provide master planning services for the expansion. Through a careful evaluation, Kleinfelder recommended the renovation of the existing building (approximately 12,000 square feet), and the addition of a two-story office building (20,000 square feet).
Shortly after completion of the master plan, Kleinfelder was selected to complete design of the renovation and addition, as well as assist with selection of a construction manager for the project.
The final design included complete renovation of the existing building by reorganizing spaces for better use and efficiency. Design of the new spaces included a staff lounge and cafeteria, office spaces, conference rooms, boardroom, product development spaces, open office suites, and a product service and calibration laboratory. Informal spaces such as a staff leisure space were also included. Located on the roof of the new building, Kleinfelder created a penthouse teaming area, complete with an outdoor deck with space for seating and entertainment.
Technology and security were extended throughout the new and renovated areas, and plans have identified future growth and expansion opportunities.
The construction and renovations were completed in less than one year. Kleinfelder provided services in architecture, civil engineering, interior design, structural engineering, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design.
Working with the client and chosen construction partner, Kleinfelder’s master plan and design became a reality, with construction completed in less than one year. The DEWESoft team now has more than 32,000 square feet of working space to continue to grow its North American staff in the years to come.
