Career Spotlight: Josh Fregosi, Senior Professional, Geotechnical Engineering

Josh Fregosi, Senior Professional, Geotechnical Engineering

Josh Fregosi has grown both personally and professionally at Kleinfelder since joining our company in 2008. As a Senior Professional for the Geotechnical Engineering group in our Greensboro, NC office, Josh manages projects, serves as engineer of record, and supervises staff for various geotechnical projects throughout the Southeast.

Josh joined Kleinfelder in 2008, as part of an acquisition of a company he’s worked for since 2006 and has worked on projects ranging from oil and gas and transportation to healthcare, education, and commercial.

“Our projects generally consist of everything,” he said, “from HDD design, facility foundation design, slope stability, and ground improvement to deep foundations, shallow foundations, and walls. We get involved with anything geotech related.”

Josh’s favorite part of the job has been working as part of a team to accomplish goals and seeing their work come to life.

“Working with a good group of people always makes the grind easier,” he said. “We have a good group in North Carolina that is willing to help each other achieve schedules and deliver to our clients.”

He also added that Kleinfelder offers so many services across the country, so if you have an interest in a specific area, we are probably doing it somewhere.

One piece of advice Josh has for anyone interested in working in the geotechnical field is to not be afraid to ask questions and to volunteer for as many assignments as possible:

“You learn the most when you try new things,” he said. “Field assignments are a great way to gain valuable experience in various geologies, and you get to see the different parts of the country. If you gain diverse experience early in your career, you will be well positioned to exceed later on.”
