What does good lab safety look like? Let Kleinfelder’s Frank Steelman, Aaron Kidd, and Jeremy Larsen show you!
We created the below video for Safe + Sound Week 2021 to help you learn the essentials for staying safe in a laboratory environment:
- Goggles: Are you working around flying debris, splashes, bright sunlight, chemicals, or dust? Make sure you protect your eyes with safety glasses, goggles, spoggles, or face shields.
- Hand protection: The correct type – and size – of glove can project your hands from laceration, impact, vibration, or chemical hazards.
- Ear plugs or muffs: Did you know that 99% of noise-induced hearing loss is preventable if proper hearing protection is worn?
As you can see, there are several types of eye, hand, and ear protection. Before starting a task, review your JLA to make sure you’re wearing the right type of protection for the hazards associated with your task. Now, get to work!
