The City of Escondido Grand Avenue Vision Project Celebration

The Kleinfelder Construction Services public relations team takes us behind the scenes of Escondido’s Grand Avenue Vision Project celebration

The Kleinfelder Construction Services (KCS) public relations team was excited to collaborate with the City of Escondido, providing event coordination services to commemorate the successful completion of Phase II of the Grand Avenue Vision Project. This vibrant community celebration was strategically planned to coincide with the opening night of the 25th Anniversary of Cruisin’ Grand (Friday, June 13, 2025), with dozens of vintage and classic cars filling the newly revitalized space. This collaboration created an even larger and more impactful event, drawing a significant crowd to the event space.

Key highlights from the event included:

  • Highlighting Grand Avenue’s New Look: City officials and community leaders shared insights into the exciting improvements, emphasizing the welcoming and pedestrian-friendly corridor for residents and visitors, while also showcasing how these enhancements complement the Cruisin’ Grand experience.
  • Cruisin’ Grand Procession & Ribbon Cutting: A truly unique moment, this procession featured emergency vehicles and vintage fire trucks making an inaugural drive through one of the new roundabouts. This not only demonstrated emergency responders’ ease of navigation through the new infrastructure, but also perfectly played into the larger Cruisin’ Grand theme, delighting attendees with a nod to classic vehicles and celebrating the union of safety and tradition.
  • Engaging Community Interaction: Attendees enjoyed a lively atmosphere with a fun photo booth, cool sticker giveaways, and coloring pages for the younger attendees, fostering a strong sense of community pride in the revitalized Grand Avenue.

Led by Project Manager Anna Finlay, Deputy Project Manager Jessica Ochoa, and Event Coordinator Jocelyn Angulo, KCS oversaw all aspects of event planning and coordination for this combined celebration. The team’s strong partnership with the City played a key role in delivering a truly memorable event that effectively highlighted both the Grand Avenue Vision Project and the beloved Cruisin’ Grand tradition.

It was an honor to once again support the City of Escondido in celebrating an important milestone. We look forward to witnessing the ongoing positive impact of the Grand Avenue Vision Project on the community and are excited to continue building on our successful track record of event planning for the City.
