Kleinfelder Honored with Sustainability Trailblazer Award at 2025 Avetta Summit
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 10, 2025) – Kleinfelder has been named a 2025 North America Customer of the Year by Avetta®, receiving the Sustainability Trailblazer Award for its leadership in advancing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. The award was presented at the annual Avetta Summit, which recognizes companies that exemplify excellence in risk management, safety, and sustainability.
Selected from more than 300 applicants and 50 finalists across six categories, Kleinfelder stood out for its strategic integration of ESG principles across operations and its supply chain. The firm leverages Avetta’s ESG solution to measure progress, promote shared accountability, and identify opportunities for improvement.
“Our ESG program is deeply integrated across the organization—from how we operate to how we support our clients and partners,” said Kleinfelder Senior Vice President and Technical Director Rita Fordiani. “We view sustainability not just as a business imperative, but as a shared commitment to public health, community impact, and long-term resilience.”
Kleinfelder’s ESG efforts are embedded into its internal practices, client services, and supplier relationships. Using tools like Avetta’s ESG platform, the company has improved visibility into its supply chain, strengthened reporting and disclosure processes, and enhanced diversity tracking. These efforts reflect Kleinfelder’s commitment to transparency, collaboration, and responsible corporate leadership.
Award recipients were selected based on objective criteria evaluated by Avetta’s safety, sustainability, and compliance experts, along with a panel of third-party industry leaders, including Adele Abrams, Senior Counsel at Littler; Dylan Short, Managing Director at The Redlands Group; and Dustin Hickey, Senior Vice President, HSEQ at Industrial Specialty Services.
“We’re inspired by the remarkable efforts of our 2025 customer of the year winners to drive safer, more sustainable and secure supply chains.” said Avetta Chief Customer Officer Abid Yousuf. “Their leadership sets a powerful example of what’s possible when organizations prioritize people, performance and long-term impact. We congratulate Kleinfelder on this outstanding achievement.”
Looking ahead, Kleinfelder plans to expand its supplier network, deepen ESG data analysis, and further enhance risk mitigation efforts, including cybersecurity and emissions tracking, as part of its ongoing commitment to building a more sustainable future.
