Reza Akhavan Joins as Senior Vice President of Infrastructure
DENVER, Colorado (March 18, 2024) – The Kleinfelder Group, Inc. (Kleinfelder), a leading engineering, design, construction management, construction materials inspection and testing, and environmental professional services firm, has appointed Reza Akhavan, PE, as Senior Vice President of Infrastructure for the company’s Central Division. With over 35 years of comprehensive engineering experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role.
Akhavan has demonstrated extensive technical and management skills, having provided leadership and oversight for planning, design, construction, operations, and program management of complex transportation infrastructure projects. In previous roles, he served as Division Vice President at an international A/E firm, where he managed operations of the Rocky Mountain Division with significant profit and loss responsibilities. Additionally, he served as the regional transportation director for the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Region 6, where he directed the overall transportation program for the Denver metropolitan area, managing funding, workforce, and innovative contracting techniques.

As the Senior Vice President of Infrastructure, Akhavan will play a pivotal role in shaping the growth strategy for Kleinfelder’s Central Division. He will focus on fostering relationships with key clients and teaming partners while leading the development of client-centric delivery teams. His responsibilities will include driving sales from clients with significant infrastructure portfolios, understanding clients’ business needs, and collaborating with delivery teams to develop innovative solutions that address complex infrastructure challenges.

Akhavan will be based out of Kleinfelder’s Denver, CO office. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and environmental from the University of Colorado at Denver and is a registered Professional Engineer in Colorado.
