San Diego International Airport Terminal 1 Replacement Project Tour

Jason Sanders Sr. Bridge Engineer & Lead Project Design Engineer
As part of the 2023 ASCE California Infrastructure Symposium, Kleinfelder sponsored a technical tour of the $2.6 billion San Diego International Airport Terminal 1 Replacement project. Kleinfelder’s lead design engineer, Jason Sanders, led portions of the tour with clients and teaming partners from across California.
“It was an absolute pleasure to participate in the ASCE Infrastructure Symposium by leading the Elevated Departures Ramp portion of the technical tour,” Jason said. “This signature project will reshape the entire experience of traveling to and within the San Diego International Airport. I am honored and humbled to be part of this team.”
From providing an environmental site assessment and phased demolition study during the planning phase to supporting the final design as the lead for civil, bridge, geotechnical, and sustainability services for the landside improvements, Kleinfelder has played a key role in the Terminal 1 Replacement project over the past five years.
