Kleinfelder Positions for Solar Market Growth, Naming Derek Brown National Solar Leader

With the continued infrastructure evolution and growth of the solar industry, Kleinfelder has named Derek Brown National Solar Market Leader.

In this role, Derek will be responsible for developing and implementing Kleinfelder’s growth strategy for the solar market. Functioning on a nationwide scale, Derek will collaborate with business development, technical, and operational leaders to expand Kleinfelder’s solar services, leverage emerging technologies, and advance business relationships with major solar developers/owners.

“Kleinfelder has earned a great reputation in the solar market by consistently providing exceptional engineering and environmental services,” Derek said. “I’m excited to work more closely with the teams who founded our solar practice and see what we can build together – an even stronger ecosystem, a deeper base of well-served clients, and a growing business that continues to lead the way in the industry.”

With 39 years of industry experience, Derek has a broad base of experience in the energy market.  Focusing on solar, wind, and high voltage infrastructure, he has supported all phases of development and redevelopment programs, from land development engineering, planning, due diligence and environmental permitting/remediation/compliance to civil engineering, entitlements, and construction. His knowledge of the challenges and opportunities associated with solar development as well as the technologies that can be leveraged to deliver forward-thinking solutions to large development programs will be valuable in positioning Kleinfelder as a preferred provider among solar clients.

“With Kleinfelder poised for growth in the solar market, Derek will play an instrumental role in leading nationwide efforts to accelerate organic growth with clients ranging from owners, developers, and EPC companies,” commented Kleinfelder Director of Markets Ashraf Jahangir. “I look forward to supporting Derek as he applies his exceptional strategic and technical skills to drive business and innovation while creating new opportunities for our staff.”
