
David Spears Joins Kleinfelder as Architecture Group Leader
BOSTON, Massachusetts (December 7, 2021) – The Kleinfelder Group, Inc., a leading engineering, construction management, design, and environmental professional services firm, is pleased to announce David Spears, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP has joined the firm as Principal, Architecture Group Leader. Spears will be responsible for driving design and technical excellence within Kleinfelder’s architecture practice in the Southern New England area while leading a team of talented architects, planners, and designers on transportation, justice, civic, and other public and private infrastructure projects.
Spears, who noted he was drawn to Kleinfelder’s multidisciplinary expertise, list of top clients, and strong set of core values, stated, “I am excited to begin working with the talented staff who contribute to Kleinfelder’s successful projects. With 20 years of industry experience, Spears has worked throughout Massachusetts, New York, and Toronto on a wide range of projects for clients ranging from local government agencies and universities to high-tech and commercial developers. Many of the recent infrastructure projects he’s supported have been for clients that Kleinfelder currently serves, including Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) and transportation clients such as Massachusetts Port Authority (MassPort), Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), and Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT).
David’s transportation experience is also bolstered by his membership with the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Boston Infrastructure Council. As a member, he co-authored a study published jointly by the ULI and Dukakis Center for Urban & Regional Policy at Northeastern University to study impacts of Core Transit Congestion on development in Greater Boston.
