Kleinfelder Honored by the New England Water Works Association

NEWWA Official Press Release

HOLLISTON, Massachusetts (September 22, 2021) – Kleinfelder, a leading engineering, design, construction management, construction materials inspection and testing, and environmental professional services firm, recently received the 2021 Young Professional Employer Support Award from the New England Water Works Association (NEWWA), the region’s largest and oldest not-for-profit organization of water works professionals.

This award recognizes an employer who has made a significant effort in supporting and promoting younger member involvement through active participation in NEWWA programs, committees, and/or presentations. Younger Members are defined as members under the age of 35 or new to the water works profession.

Kleinfelder was recognized for encouraging its eligible professionals to become members of NEWWA and to become actively engaged in committees. Kleinfelder notably discusses involvement in the association as part of the process of onboarding new staff members.

During the past year, Kleinfelder supported eligible staff participation on NEWWA committees such as the Organizational Diversity, Water for People, Youth Education, Young Professionals, and Corrosion Committees. One staff member participated and graduated from the NEWWA Mentoring Program during the 2021 Spring Learnapalooza.

In recent years, Kleinfelder has supported the preparation of Journal publications by eligible staff and actively mentors staff in the submitting of abstracts and making presentations at NEWWA conferences and meetings.

Kleinfelder sent five young professionals (YPs) to the virtual 2020 Annual Conference, including one presenter, and six YPs to the 2021 Spring Conference, including two YP presenters. It also supported YP attendance at the 2020 July Membership Meeting, December Membership Meeting, Water Quality Symposium, and the January 2021 Membership Meeting & Ski Classic.

Kleinfelder was recognized with this award on September 8, 2021, during the 140th NEWWA Annual Conference in Bretton Woods, NH.
