Stay Safe in the Office with Todd the Safety Cat
August 9, 20210
What does good ergonomics and general office safety look like? Let Kleinfelder’s Miki Muramoto, Andy Nguyen, and Jennifer Daniel show you! With special guest appearances by Todd the Safety Cat.
We created the below video for Safe + Sound Week 2021 to help you learn the essentials for staying safe in an office environment:
- Sitting at a desk: Proper ergonomics are important to preventing musculoskeletal injuries. Avoid awkward positions by keeping your back supported, feet flat on the floor, and your hands in line with your forearms. And don’t forget to get up and take breaks.
 - Lifting: Proper lifting techniques will prevent back injuries – bend at the knees and hips, keep your back straight, use your legs and arms for leverage, and don’t twist.
 - Push vs. pull: Pulling objects, such as carts, can cause overexertion. If possible, push carts from the end that has the swiveled wheels or casters.
