Sanzone, Ph.D. has joined the firm’s West Division as Senior Program Manager, Vice President, Environment.  Focused on driving excellence and growth within Kleinfelder’s environmental practice, Sanzone will direct and lead technical teams across the West Division to expand Kleinfelder’s portfolio of work and deliver innovative, forward-thinking solutions on complex, high-profile projects.

With a doctoral degree in ecology and more than 29 years of experience, Sanzone is an accomplished leader with both technical expertise and business acumen. For the past three decades, she has conducted scientific and technical studies and managed large programs in marine and onshore ecosystems for major oil and gas, energy, industrial, and technology clients.  She has supported major projects by interpreting environmental regulatory requirements, drafting monitoring and mitigation plans (EMMPs), has authored Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessments (ESHIAs), and has conducted extensive scientific and technical studies.

As a business professional with extensive experience managing client accounts, Sanzone has led strategy and business development efforts that have resulted in winning large portions of the market share from major clients throughout the U.S. as well as internationally.  Leveraging her business acumen, contacts, and understanding of client needs across several market sectors, she has established a consistent record of transforming challenges into expansive business opportunities.

Active within the industry and scientific community, Sanzone has served on environmental advisory committees and technical working groups for the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), American Petroleum Institute (API), International Oil and Gas Producers Association (IOGP), Offshore Operators Committee (OOC), and the Alaska Oil and Gas Association (AOGA).  Sanzone was a Fulbright Scholar, serves on the University of Georgia, School of Ecology Board of Directors (BOD), and teaches short courses on environmental and social impact assessment, endangered and protected species regulations, and how to identify and manage non-technical risk for private corporations.
