The Kleinfelder and CH2M HILL Joint Venture (JV) was awarded this five-year, $100 million contract to provide field investigations, studies, analysis, and remediation oversight in support of U.S. Navy and Marine Corps’ compliance with CERCLA, RCRA, BRAC, UST and Munitions Program regulations and guidance.
This contract demands consistent high-quality technical services on multiple projects at multiple sites. The projects need multiple specialist project teams to safely provide cost-effective, high-value solutions. On our first technical task order, our review of prior work led to a recommendation to request site closure with no-further action (subsequently approved by regulators) instead of proposing corrective action as scoped, thus saving the client several hundred thousand dollars.
Building on nearly 20 years of experience providing environmental consulting services to NAVFAC Southwest, Kleinfelder has demonstrated its capability for cost avoidance and generating return on investment and will help Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest “do more with less” in an environment of funding cuts. The JV provides NAVFAC Southwest with the capabilities provided by more than 650 registered engineers in the contract footprint, 3,700 registered engineers worldwide, and 24,000 staff worldwide.
Kleinfelder’s specialized experience and strong past performance record of delivering environmental engineering support for the Navy ensures ease of contracting, accurate cost estimating and effective work planning, confidence in the quality of the work product, exceedance of small business contracting goals, and trust that work will be performed safely.
