Kleinfelder’s Ali Abdullah, PhD, a staff engineer in the Tulsa, Oklahoma, office recently co-authored a paper titled “Preliminary Investigation of the Relationships Between HMA Compressive and Tensile Dynamic Modulus.” The paper summarized research on the relationship of two different tests on asphalt pavement samples. The goal was to evaluate the potential for savings if one test (the compressive test) could be also be used to accurately estimate the results of the other test (the tensile tests). (December 2016)
