This client produces approximately 16 million tonnes of coal each year, which is railed for export. To support future expansion, Kleinfelder performed detailed vegetation mapping to identify and delineate varying community types, while assessing their respective conservation status under state and federal legisation.

Relevant Results

Kleinfelder efficiently completed a high-quality, detailed vegetation map for the Bulga Underground Operations study area, comprising a total of 2,587 hectares. The mapping is being used to help plan future underground extension and surface activities across the complex and to ensure compliance with relevant mining consent conditions. Kleinfelder identified and mapped a total of 15 vegetation communities, seven of which were determined to be equivalent to one of six threatened ecological communities listed under the TSC Act 1995.
