Celebrating IT Professionals Day
In recognition of IT Professionals Day on September 17, we are shining a light on the often behind-the-scenes work of Kleinfelder’s IT team. While the specifics of their daily tasks may remain a mystery to many, their impact on our organization is undeniable. This team ensures our data is secure, our software solutions meet our unique needs, and our technology runs smoothly.
Celebrating IT Professionals Day
IT Professionals Day is celebrated on the third Tuesday of each September and was established in 2015 to honor the information technology (IT) professionals who do the critical — but often unseen — work to keep our networks and applications running.
At Kleinfelder, our IT team supports our enterprise-wide technology foundation through infrastructure upgrades, point solution outsourcing, and appropriate use of new tools, best practices, and improved processes.
Our IT staff aren’t just critical to the daily operations of our organization — they’re also recognized in the industry and beyond.
Andy Kimura Participates in Nasuni Panel
As an example, Kleinfelder Senior IT Manager Andy Kimura recently took part in a panel discussion led by the President of Nasuni at the 2024 Nasuni Dallas User Group Gathering, alongside leaders from Microsoft and GeoVerra.
The meeting was attended by representatives from various industries, including AEC, manufacturing, media, retail, and financial services. The focus of the discussion centered on selecting the optimal Azure strategy for file-based workloads.
Mouhamed Diagne, representing Microsoft, began the session by emphasizing Microsoft’s partnership with Nasuni. This collaboration is dedicated to delivering robust cloud file storage solutions tailored for enterprise needs. Nasuni’s cloud-based file data platform seamlessly integrates with Azure Blob storage, offering centralized file management and scalable storage solutions.
Andy shared Kleinfelder’s experience migrating the company’s file infrastructure to Azure through Nasuni’s platform. He highlighted the positive impact of this migration on Kleinfelder’s operations, enhancing cross-office collaboration, meeting stringent client data security requirements, and significantly improving file recovery capabilities.
