Project Description:Development of the site in accordance with the recommendations presented in the geotechnical report were observed. Primarily, these services included observation of the removal of unsuitable materials (including topsoil) and proofrolling of exposed subgrades prior to placing fill.
Scope of Services
- Structural Fill: Soils suitable for use as fill were identified and Proctor and Atterberg limits tests were performed on those soils. The lift thickness, dry density, and moisture content of the fill placed in the building pad and parking areas were monitored. Foundation Bearing Materials - The soils present in the base of building foundation excavations were evaluated to determine compliance with the design bearing pressure.
- Reinforcing Steel: Placement of the reinforcing steel in structural elements of the building will be observed for size, spacing, splice length, cleanliness, clearance, coverage, grade and quantity prior to placing concrete.
- Concrete: Field tests were performed and compressive strength test specimens cast during placement of concrete in building shell structures and pavements. The field tests performed included slump, air content and temperature.
- Project Management: Our project manager supervised and directed our field personnel, developed bi-weekly progress reports and monitored costs for actual services provided versus the contract budget. Our project engineer reviewed and signed the bi-weekly report and provided technical assistance as needed.
