Project Description:

Kleinfelder is working with a confidential client to evaluate the geotechnical and geologic aspects of a 100-acre site along the rugged, pacific coast of Northern Baja California, Mexico. The project involves on-shore and offshore structures, as well as access roads into the remote area.

On-shore geotechnical evaluation
Off-shore bathymetric survey
Off-shore geotechnical evaluation
Coordination with multiple US and Mexican subcontractors
Working with both the US and Mexican Governments to obtain the proper work permits
Completing the project on schedule

Kleinfelder's Role

Kleinfelder will work with multiple subcontractors to prepare the geotechnical report. The geologic and geotechnical investigation for the project will include:

Landslide investigation along the coastal bluff
Fault investigation in the seismically active region
Sixteen (16) on-shore rock cores into fractured basalt to depths of up to 100 meters
Six (6) rock rippability test pits
Sixty (60) on-shore soil depth test pits
Off-shore bathymetric survey in the surf and beach zone
Fifteen (15) off-shore rock cores in the surf zone and near shore areas to depths of up to 50 meters.
