Mark D. LaGatta, P.E., of the Hamilton, New Jersey office recently passed the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) for new construction (NC) exam. LEED is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance green buildings that reduce the negative environmental impacts of our built environment. By successfully completing the LEED NC examination and accreditation, LaGatta has demonstrated an understanding of green-building practices and principles, and familiarity with LEED requirements, resources, and processes. As a LEED NC, LaGatta has the knowledge and skills to: participate in the LEED NC design process; support and encourage integrated building design; and streamline and facilitate the LEED application and certification process. With specialties in geotechnical engineering, geoenvironmental engineering, and geosynthetics, LaGatta focuses his efforts on client development engineering consulting primarily in the greater Delaware Valley of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. He earned his B.S. in civil engineering from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania and has M.S. in civil (geotechnical) engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the U.S. Society on Dams and the U.S. National Society of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering. |
