Kleinfelder Welcomes Bruce Curtis to Surface Water Resources Program

Kleinfelder is pleased to announce Bruce Curtis, P.E., Ph.D., has joined the firm’s Golden Colorado office. As a principal water resources engineer with Kleinfelder’s Surface Water Resources Program, Curtis will serve as a senior technical manager in our growing Hydrology and Hydraulics Program and function as a project team leader for dams, levees, and major flood control pursuits and projects. He brings more than 24 years of professional engineering experience including the planning, design, project management, project coordination, client relationships, and regulatory interaction of engineering projects.

Curtis has extensive experience with hydrology and hydraulics studies and analyses, storm water quality BMP analyses and designs, channel stabilization, soil erosion estimation and control, sediment transport, detention basin design, alluvial fan analysis, mud and debris flow analysis, water supply and treatment facility design, water rights, hydrogeologic modeling and studies, and well design. Curtis is an expert in state-of-the-art software for hydrology and hydraulics studies and has conducted modeling of river basins as large as 1800 square miles.

Curtis earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in 1979 and his master’s degree and doctorate from the University of Nebraska in 1988 and 1992, respectively. Curtis is licensed as a Professional Engineer in the state of Colorado.
