Kleinfelder is pleased to announce the recent addition of Bruce Berends, P.E. Berends joins us as a senior professional geotechnical engineer in our Tempe, Arizona office, and brings with him more than 30 years of experience to Kleinfelder’s Arizona region.

A former resident of the state of Colorado, Berends has been the engineer-in-charge of numerous public and private projects in that state. He has performed and managed geotechnical studies for major commercial and residential developments, multi-story buildings, water and wastewater treatment facilities, dams, mining facilities, and other civil engineering structures. As a geotechnical professional his skills have been utilized to serve as an expert witness for civil litigation.

He is a registered engineer in the state of Colorado and will soon obtain his accreditation for the state of Arizona. He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Colorado. He has been active in numerous professional affiliations including: American Council of Engineering Companies of Colorado (Past Board of Directors); American Society of Civil Engineers (Past President, Colorado Springs Branch, Colorado Section, of ASCE), Colorado Association of Geotechnical Engineers; National Society of Professional Engineers; and Society of American Military Engineers.
