Remediation technologies for percholate removal from drinking water are evolving rapidly as traditional approaches prove unreliable, difficult to implement, or too costly. Kleinfelder partnered with Alliant Techsystems to perform a pilot test of a new technology we developed for in situ remediation of percholate in groundwater. Kleinfelder's work involved introducing, via a sparge well, a gaseous amendment to enhance microbial degradation of dissolved percholate. If successful, this technology could dramatically reduce the cost associated with cleanup up percholate-contaminated sites throughout the country. |
