Kleinfelder hires senior program manager for pipeline integrity/risk management

Robert Fassett brings 22 years of technical and leadership experience in oil and gas

SANTA ROSA, Calif. —  Kleinfelder, a global architecture, engineering and science consulting firm, has hired Robert (Bob) Fassett as a vice president and senior program manager for the firm’s gas pipeline engineering and integrity management practice. He brings with him more than 22 years of experience in engineering, research, development, construction, operations, maintenance, corrosion control, integrity, and risk management of gas transmission and distribution pipelines, as well as measurement and regulation facilities.

In his new position, Bob will be responsible for overseeing business development efforts for oil and gas clients seeking  pipeline support services, including pipeline engineering, geotechnical engineering, threat assessment, integrity management program peer review/training, trenchless technology, environmental planning and permitting, biological monitoring, project controls, project management, and more.

Prior to joining Kleinfelder, Bob spent 22 years with Pacific Gas & Electric where he most recently acted as senior technical advisor to the company’s legal department. Prior to that, he held numerous technical and leadership positions of increasing responsibility, primarily related to pipeline integrity, risk management, maintenance and engineering. Throughout his career, Bob has been involved with numerous industry associations, including the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE), the American Gas Association (AGA), and the Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI). Bob received his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Santa Clara University. He will work out of Kleinfelder’s Santa Rosa, Calif., office.
