Resulting synergies to provide significant growth opportunities for both firms

PRINCETON, N.J. —  Kleinfelder, a global architecture, engineering and science consulting firm, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Omni Environmental (Omni), a New Jersey-based firm offering consulting services in the areas of water quality management, environmental contamination, renewable energy and more. The transaction closed on November 6, 2012, following several months of integration planning between the management teams of both firms.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to have Omni join the Kleinfelder team. Omni is a thriving firm with a strong management and technical staff, and an excellent reputation with its clients,” said Bill Siegel, Kleinfelder CEO. “The more we talked with them, the more it became apparent that our cultures and goals were very closely aligned. Together, our firms’ respective clients will undoubtedly be better served with greater geographic presence and service diversity.”

Founded by Raymond Ferrara, Ph.D., and James F. Cosgrove Jr., P.E., in 2007, Omni’s services extend beyond traditional consulting and include strategic planning and regulatory compliance support to a wide variety of public and private sector entities throughout the country. The firm employs 16 people working out of its Princeton, N.J., headquarters. The entirety of the Omni staff will be retained and now operate under the co-branded name Kleinfelder/Omni.

“In evaluating options for our future, our clients and employees have always been of paramount importance,” said Dr. Ferrara. “In joining forces with Kleinfelder, Omni’s existing clients will have access to a more robust suite of services throughout the globe. Not only will this open doors for our clients to grow, but it will create a world of opportunities for our employees to advance their careers through a variety of available paths at Kleinfelder.”

Kleinfelder has been executing a strategic growth plan since 1992, of which growing the firm’s environmental services — both organically and through acquisition — has been a key factor in the plan’s success. Since 2010 alone, Kleinfelder has acquired six environmental services firms, including LPG Environmental & Permitting Services (Orlando, Fla.), Buys and Associates (Littleton, Colo.), InSite Environmental (Stockton, Calif.), Corrigan Consulting (Houston), Ecobiological Group (NSW, Australia), and now Omni. During this time, Kleinfelder also opened its first office in Canada (Calgary) to offer environmental support services to major commercial and energy clients in the region.
